Iced tea recipe

 Ginger Iced Tea
A strong iced tea, made with fresh ginger. If you're looking for a change from the usual lemon iced tea, then you should give this bold ginger iced tea a try.
Ingredients:
• 5 tea bags
• 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
• Sugar, to taste
Preparation:
Slice ginger root into thin slices and crush. Heat 1 quart of water and let tea steep with the ginger. Let steep over low heat for at least 10 minutes. Strain out tea and ginger slices and add sugar. Let cool and serve over ice.

 Cranberry Orange Iced Tea
A tart and fruity iced tea recipe, that you can use to improve some regular iced tea (either homemade or bottled). Garnish with some orange slices for added colour.
Ingredients:
• 2 quarts iced tea
• 1 can frozen cranberry juice concentrate
• 1 cup orange juice
• 1/3 cup sugar
Preparation:
In a large pitcher, stir together the cranberry juice and the orange juice. Add iced tea, and then mix in sugar. Continue stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Put back in the fridge and let chill through and serve over ice. Serves 8 - 10.
 Lemon Almond Iced Tea
This is a sparkling iced tea, with the unusual combination of lemon with almond and vanilla. You could use regular soda water, if you prefer less lemon flavour.
Ingredients:
• 4 cups boiling water
• 10 tea bags, black
• 2 lemons, sliced thinly
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 tbs almond extract
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 2-litre bottle of lemon carbonated drink
Preparation:
Brew tea in a saucepan, and steep for 10 minutes. Put lemon slices into a large pitcher, giving them each a squeeze as you go. Add sugar into pitcher. Mix in tea. Add flavourings and pop right before serving. If you are not going to serve immediately, hold off on the extracts and lemon soda until then.

 Lime Mint Iced Tea
A simple iced tea, with a twang of lime and hint of mint. It's both sweet and tart at the same time. The lime juice will be much better flavoured if freshly squeezed.
Ingredients:
• 1 quart water, boiling
• 4 tea bags
• 1 3/4 cups fresh mint leaves
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup lime juice
Preparation:
Mix tea bags, mint and sugar in hot water, and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain out the tea bags and mint leaves. Chill and add lime juice before serving.

 Milk Thandai
Though not a tea drink, I thought this spicy milk drink would appeal to all the chai fans. Thandai drinks are popular in India during the colour festival of Holi.
Ingredients:
• 15 almonds
• 2 tsp aniseed
• 2 tsp poppy seeds
• 8 cardamom pods
• 12 tsp sugar
• 2 tsp peppercorns
• 2 tsp cumin seeds
• 300ml water
• 400ml milk
• 4 tsp crushed ice
Preparation:
Grind all the spices, with the almonds separate. Blend together in a large bowl, and add water and milk. Strain through cheesecloth until liquid is smooth. Serve cold.

 Peach Iced Tea
Peach juice is so nice in the heat of the summer. Lemon is nice, but you can only drink so much lemon iced tea. Try something different.
Ingredients:
• 3 12-oz cans of peach juice
• 2 quarts tea
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup lemon juice
Preparation:
Combine everything and chill. Serve over ice.

 Raspberry Honey Iced Tea
Very refreshing in the summer. I've always that that raspberry juice was the most summery of fruit juices. This recipe is nicely flavoured without being too sweet. Only honey, no sugar.
Ingredients:
• 2 cups tea
• 2 cups raspberry juice
• 1/4 cup honey
Preparation:
Mix raspberry juice, tea and honey. Whisk until honey is dissolved. Serve cold over ice. You can substitute cranberry juice, instead of raspberry for a different taste.

 Saigon Iced Tea
An iced tea, spiced with cloves and allspice. Basically, another variation of an iced chai tea. Spicy doesn't have to mean hot. This recipe will still cool you down, but with some kick.
Ingredients:
• 3 tbs loose tea
• 4 cups water
• 12 whole cloves
• 12 allspice berries
• 1 2-inch cinnamon stick
• Lemon wedges
Preparation:
Pour water into a saucepan and bring to a simmer with tea, cloves, allspice and cinnamon. Steep the mix for about 5 minutes. Strain out all the spices and tea leaves, and then put in the fridge to chill thoroughly. Serve this spiced ice tea with lemon wedges, over ice

 Sparkling Jasmine Iced Tea
A sparkling iced tea, flavoured with jasmine and brown sugar syrup. A change from the ordinary, with a sweet and floral flavour.
Ingredients:
• 4 cups water, boiling
• 3 tbs loose jasmine tea
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 1/4 cups sparkling water
Preparation:
Dissolve sugar in 3/4 cup of water, and boil gently until a syrup has formed. Set aside and let cool. Steep the jasmine tea in the remaining 3 cups of hot water for around 6 minutes. Strain out tea, and let cool slightly. In a pitcher, combine syrup and tea. Stir or whisk until fully blended. Add sparkling water and cool thoroughly. Serve over ice. Can be served with cinnamon sticks, lemon slices or mint sprigs.
